If you're interested, this is me!

The word ‘cinephile’ always comes across as a bit pretentious, but that’s probably the most accurate word to describe me.

The most important thing for me to maintain as a writer is an ‘empathy first’ philosophy. It’s not always about agreeing with someone, but it’s about understanding everyone’s perspective. There’s nothing better than sharing discourse with people around the world and forming a connection through the shared love of an artform.

I’ve recently completed a Journalism and Professional Writing & Publishing degree at Curtin University. While there, I wrote for both Curtin University's Grok Magazine and Western Independent, including reviews and feature articles for the former and news pieces for the latter.

I've loved film since I was a young boy. I even remember creating book filled with posters from the year in film. That year was 2006, I was seven. Over a decade later, and I haven't changed! I've been writing reviews and film-related content since January 1 2017. It was after I finished school where I realised that I wanted to write more and become more in tune with film on a critical level. It was one of the best choices I ever made, and I'll keep doing until the passion runs thin. I don't think it ever will. It's true that film is an empathy tool which allows us to connect with diverse stories all across the planet. I love connecting with them, and I adore talking about them.

What I want to do with this site is continue to build on the writing that I've done for the past three years. I've got reviews for so many new releases coming as well as lists, retrospectives and feature articles, which allows me to hone in and focus on a specific element of a film and delve delve in deeper into its storytelling.

I hope you enjoy the content! If you have any request of something to cover, feel free to ask.
